In a world of films that slam toxic fathers and call them heroes, it is refreshing to see the filmmaker portray the struggles of an ordinary man and his relationship with his son in such a natural manner. The heroism is not in saving the day or beating up bad guys, it is in mending your family’s relationships and coming to terms with your own personal demons.
Mithran Jawahar, who has crafted some of the most memorable Tamil films like Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule, is on top of his game once again with Thiruchitrambalam. It features a stellar cast of characters and is a film that every family should watch. The script is solid, and the direction is impeccable. The cinematography by Om Prakash is outstanding, especially the shots at night.
