By his junior season he averaged 18.8 points and 7.7 rebounds to lead Artesia Tigers to an undefeated 33-1 record.

Harden was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the third overall selection in 2009 NBA draft and immediately made an impactful impactful contribution on the court, leading his team in scoring while making more three-pointers than anyone in his rookie year. As a result, he earned All-Rookie Second Team recognition and eventually earning NBA All-Star honors in 2021.

Donovan Mitchell

Following halftime, Mitchell and James Harden made key layups while Indiana struggled with ball movement issues and missed several open shots; Indiana also were missing center Jarrett Allen (right knee injury management), wing Sam Merrill (left hamstring injury management), forward Evan Mobley (left calf injury management), and Dean Wade (right ankle sprain).

Mitchell was especially impressive in the second half, scoring 23 points as Cleveland began its comeback. Mitchell finished with 38 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals to lead Cleveland to an easy victory that clinched their playoff berth and moved them four games ahead of fifth-place Atlanta.

After the game, Mitchell heaped praise upon his teammates for their performance in the fourth period. “The guys did an outstanding job of fighting through some difficult moments to secure the win,” Mitchell noted. “We’re truly proud of all of them.”

Mitchell excelled as a Brewster Academy standout, winning back-to-back NEPSAC Class AAA and national prep championship teams.

Additionally, he fully immersed himself into community life, serving as Senior Prefect and giving admissions tours on campus to prospective students.

Mitchell also participated in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game and became only the seventh player – joining Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan – to score season high 71 points in an overtime victory. Additionally, Mitchell led his league in free throw attempts made during 2023 regular season play.

The Cavaliers currently own the best record in the Eastern Conference and hold an advantage over Indiana Pacers who own the worst record.

Early in the second half, Max Strus caused some concern for the Cavaliers when he entered the tunnel accompanied by team medical staff and appeared to grab and flex his left wrist or hand before having tape applied when he returned to his bench with 2:20 remaining.

On Sunday, center Jarrett Allen made his long-awaited return to Cleveland’s lineup after suffering an ACL tear during the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals against Indiana Pacers nearly one year earlier. Although listed as questionable prior to tip off against Pacers at Rocket Arena, Allen played for 2:20 of Cleveland’s 118-102 victory.

Cavs small forward Max Strus left the game in the second quarter with an injured left wrist, leaving via the tunnel leading to his locker room with members of the team’s medical staff. While guarding Pacers forward Micah Potter, Strus appeared to flex either his hand or wrist after making a floater shot that caused this problem.
