Lola Tung

Lola Tung has become a household name thanks to her portrayal of Belly Conklin on Prime Video’s hit summer series The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Recently she sat down with Variety’s Up Next podcast for an in-depth conversation regarding upcoming film projects including her sequel as Belly and two horror projects as well as what might come next in her career path.

Tung hails from New York City and graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in 2020. As a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University when auditioning for Belly in To All The Boys by Jenny Han, Tung was given her role with no prior acting credits to her name.

Tung’s Belly faces internal turmoil surrounding her feelings for Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney). Although Tung doesn’t quite relate to Belly as much as she would like, she has learned much by watching her navigate love and relationships.

Tung has also found it beneficial to collaborate with more female directors in film and television, which she attributes to genuine conversations on set between women directors who take great care in crafting their craft and Tung herself who finds this approach more rewarding than previous efforts.

Alongside roles on TSITP and in films due out soon, she recently signed a three-year agreement with an E.L. James production company for an original movie based on We Were Liars that Netflix will produce starring her.

Christopher Briney

Christopher Briney has been an integral member of the cast since its debut in 2022 on The Summer I Turned Pretty. Fans love his portrayal of Belly Conklin, the daughter of wealthy Fisher family who spends her summers at Cousins Beach with cousins and friends.

The series explores her journey into adulthood as she experiences growing independence while experiencing shifting family dynamics.

The show examines romantic tensions and friendships among teenagers, which has contributed to its success. It features an ensemble cast made up of talented young actors who bring the experience of youth alive through their performances.

Summer Madison

Summer Madison is an American actress best known for playing Nicole Richardson on Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty and also appearing in Emergency and The Wonder Years. Madison was born July 7, 1999 in Senoia, Georgia and best known for her roles on these two series.

Each summer, Belly Conklin travels with her mother Laurel and brother Steven to Cousins Beach with Susannah Fisher’s sons Jeremiah and Conrad as her best friend of Laurel’s best friend Susannah Fisher – along with growing independence as she experiences shifting family dynamics along with new social encounters and romantic tensions with Jeremiah and Conrad.

As Belly enters her teen years, these changes in family dynamic come along with growing independence as well as romantic tension between Jeremiah and Conrad and Belly herself is exploring all these opportunities that Cousins Beach offers.

At the debutante tea, Belly meets fellow debutantes such as wealthy socialite Shayla. At the ball, Belly confronts Conrad over his aloof behavior and discovers that he’s dating Nicole; when he crashes Cam’s date with Nicole instead of sending them away angrily as Jeremiah begins to experience conflicted feelings toward Nicole.

At a book signing Laurel runs into Cleveland Castillo whom she offended previously but who now plans to write on sailing instead. Later she decides to move on and focus on other projects before revisiting Cleveland Castillo at reencountering Cleveland Castillo again but this time tells Laurel that his next book will focus on sailing; at which Laurel decides she moves on and decides on starting another project altogether.

Jahz Armando

Jahz Armando, a French R&B musician with an irresistibly smooth sound that appeals to contemporary music fans, mixes traditional French culture with modern influences to craft his unique style and build an audience of followers. Known for his emotive lyrics and seductive voice.

Belly (Jackie Chung) and her mother Laurel (Jackie Chung) spend their summers at Susannah Fisher’s beach house in Cousins Beach. From an early age, Belly has had a crush on Susannah’s son Conrad (Susannah Fisher’s son) whom she admires deeply, yet Jeremiah starts to develop feelings for Belly despite Conrad being more introverted; Jeremiah expresses these emotions more openly compared to Conrad and finally shares a kiss by season’s end and begins dating as well.

Steven is Belly’s older brother and has been close with Conrad and Jeremiah since childhood. Steven is an excellent student preparing to leave for college; after having briefly romanced Belly during Season 1, they begin dating before his departure for school at the end of Season 1. Steven is played by Sean Kaufman who may also be recognized from roles like Manifest and Walker.

Isaline Prevost Radeff

Isaline Prevost Radeff stars as Taylor, Belly’s best friend who travels with her every summer to Cousins Beach. Outgoing and popular at school, Taylor spends her summers playing volleyball alongside Belly. Belly had long had a crush on Conrad (Steven’s boyfriend), however in Season 1 of this show she becomes more mature and begins seeing him as more than just an acquaintance and confesses her feelings for Conrad – not long after, Conrad confesses his feelings back for her and vice versa! Based on Jenny Han’s novel of the same name (released June 4, 2022 on Prime Video), Season 1 premiered June 4, 2022 on Prime Video.
